Perennial call for regatta crew
It is still a big ask. Even without the prize-giving dance, there is need to round up 48 volunteers for the shoreside events at Sullivans Bay and Scotts Landing.
To man the bar and burger production at Scotts Landing would optimally have required 36 regatta-goers to forsake a couple of hours each. The reality of course was that the crews worked mostly shorthanded, with some toiling from mid-afternoon until midnight, not to mention several subsequent days spent cleaning up, recycling cans and bottles, and returning equipment.
Optimally, the shoreside events at Sullivans Bay would similarly involve a morning team and an after-lunch team, so that volunteers might also have time to enjoy the spectacle. It is in pursuit of this ideal that the following list of volunteers is published:
